Climate

The Atlantic climate is always bearable, even during midsummer, because of a constant fresh breeze.

In the Alentejo one cannot expect mediterranean climate - that can be found in the Algarve. During spring time from March until the middle of May we have temperatures of about 20-25ºC, but sometimes they rise to about 30ºC. In summer, from the middle of June on, temperatures of more than 30ºC, occasionally also more than 35ºC, in the shade are normal. It is almost always windy, so one can bear the hot days easily. The weather stays nice and sunny until the end of September, with temperatures of 22-26ºC, before a short rain period. In October there is usually another nice time. From November till January or February it normally rains violently. The air temperatures in winter are between 10 and 18ºC, frost only rarely occuring.
