The Hunting Possibilities

Portugal, the mostly unknown hunting country, is a true paradise for hunters. Shooting has a century-old tradition here. The hunting ground is 680 hectares, with the additional leaseholds about 1200 hectares.

In Portugal, the hunt is very easily combined with a cultural sight-seeing-trip or a bathing holiday. Why not join together holidays in the sun with a wild boar shoot? Spend the day at the beach, enjoying our services and go hunting in the evenings. Wild boars will be pursued by "Montaria" (drive with about 200-250 dogs and 50-60 hunters on raised stands). Season of Montaria from October to February, stalk all year. Partidges will also be hunted by drive. Besides that the Herdade can offer a 100 hectare training camp, where you can hunt all year and train dogs. The possibilities for dog-training are either ground game or wing game. From the reservoir wild ducks will pass the beat in twilight. They can be hunted from November to January. We have got small predators that may be shot - Foxes and mongooses.

The hunt will be done with the presence of experienced native hunters, both for stand and drive hunting.

We offer two kinds of hunt: Shooting, which of course underlies strict rules and may only be offered during given times of the year, and "camera hunting", which has not got any rules and will be offered throughout the year. The camera hunt requires prior preparations that need well-timed booking, if it is to be successful.
