Alvalade is a parish in the municipality of Santiago do Cacém. A village with an enchanting landscape located between Campilhas strem and the river Sado.

Sights:
- Church: with Manueline portal and main altar with a poligonal apse. The altar-piece is national in style and the XVI and XVII century statues are all in good condition. The art in the church is from the XVII and XVIII centuries and repre- sents the regional tastes of these times. A pain- ting named Souls in Purgatory by José de Escovar, who painted in the early seventeenth century, is outstanding.
